12 Days Productions and Theatrical Society

12 Days Productions and Theatrical Society is the official student-run theatre organization at Richmond, the American International University. We provide entertainment at both the Richmond and Kensington campuses, staging up to 6 productions per academic year. We thrive on what we have come to call "lunchbox theatre", meaning that we utilize the a variety of uniquer performance spaces available to us on each campus. 12 Days encourages all of its members to challenge their creative faculties and act on all of their theatrical impulses. Members learn first hand what it is like to run a theatre company by taking the helm of a variety of roles in the theatre, from director to producer to actor to lighting technician.

Hopefully we will figure out how to get a membership registration form up on this website so that you can make sure you get all of our updates and newsletters. In the meantime, manual sign-up will be done at this semeseter's Freshers Fair on Wednesday 6 September from 2-4pm on the Richmond campus. For those Kensingtonites, we will try to have a sign up session there as well. OR, alternatively, you can just email us requesting to be a member.

 Members are going to have some perks come this new year. So be prepared!

We are currently in the process of building a 12 Days Production website to benefit both members and the Richmond community. This site will contain information about upcoming productions, casting dates, rehearsal schedules, membership ticket promotions, news, and society reforms that are bound to be made this year. We hope you will all support this coordinated effort to improve our theatrical society.

Last spring's election ceremony was attended by few members due to academic obligations and Finals Week. As a result, all those present at the time were defaulted into a variety of leadership positions. Upon further review, last years officers decided that a new election in which the majority of our members are in attendance must take place as soon as possible at the beginning of the Fall 2006 semester. This is no way speaks against the qualifications of those who were defaulted into their roles and we encourage those individuals to run again. More information will be provided about criteria for running on the Officers and Staff page.

Last year, 12 Days saw the introduction of a musical theatre department, an overall increase in ticket sales, the purchase of new equipment, and two prestigious awards given by RAIUL. Check all that out on The Year in Review page!
